Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected Friday programs. Monday, Feb. 21 – S.C. Botanical Garden ’s Academic Director Lisa Wagner and Host Ann Lee McPhail tour the S.C. Botanical Garden and explain how plants are named. Then Clemson University Food and Nutrition Professor Beth Kunkel talks about triglycerides. Tuesday, Feb. 22 -- If you need to repot a house plant, we have the expert. Chuck Burgess, horticulture information specialist with Clemson University ’s Home and Garden Information Center , shows the correct procedure. Then Beth Kunkel, Clemson University food and nutrition professor, discusses obesity in kids. Wednesday, Feb. 23 – ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) may affect more people that was once thought. Kelly Gillespie, Clemson University student, talks with Carol Miller of the Redfern Health Center . Then Clemson Extension Agent Sue Hovey and Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle answer a viewer’s request for more recipes on whole grain bread. Thursday, Feb. 24 -- Back by viewer request, Clemson University student Heather Batt shows how to make spicy pumpkin bread. Then Clemson Extension Urban Wildlife Specialist Candace Cummings discusses ideas on how to teach children about birds. Friday Feb. 25 -- Bill Head of Head Lee Nursery and Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski look at some new varieties of low growing plants. Then Clemson University Food and Nutrition Specialist Beth Kunkel discusses how to get kids to eat better. At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The Carolina Channel and RFDTV. RFDTV airs on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. on Direct TV on channel 379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409.
