Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected Friday programs. Monday, Jan. 17 — David Bradshaw, Clemson Extension horticulture specialist, discusses hardy Cyclemen. Joe Albano, professor of horticulture at the University of Florida ’s USDA research lab, showcases the African Violet. He also features a segment on a variety of ferns and how to care for them. Tuesday, Jan. 18 — Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle and Host Ann Lee McPhail report on homemade relishes featured at the South Carolina State Fair. Former Clemson University Horticulturalist Carey Burris details the propagation and dividing of ferns. Joe Albano, professor of horticulture at the University of Florida’s USADA research lab, discusses carnivorous plants. Wednesday, Jan. 19 — Former Clemson University Horticulturalist Carrie Burress continues her discussion of propagating and dividing of ferns (stay home ferns). She also discusses potting soil. Bob Polomski, Clemson Extension horticulturist, will illustrate the importance of composting. Clemson Extension Associate in the Clemson Agriculture Service lab Kathy Moore talks about water testing. Thursday, Jan. 20 – Host Ann Lee McPhail and Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle enlighten us on the topic of pickles. Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw illustrates the technique of propagating Begonias. Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski talks about how to propagate houseplants. Friday, Jan. 21 — Clemson Extension Associate in the Clemson Agriculture Service Lab Kathy Moore follows up her previous segment with procedures on soil testing. At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The Carolina Channel and RFDTV. RFDTV airs on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. on Direct TV on channel 379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409. END
