At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Jan. 3

CLEMSON -- "At Home, Southern Style," a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina Educational Television Network for the week of Jan. 3. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.  

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected Friday programs.  

Monday, Jan. 3 – Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski is in the S.C. Botanical Garden in the Xeriscaping area explaining how this concept works.

Cheryl Brown, former horticulture student, shows us how to create a table arrangement.

Tuesday, Jan. 4 -- Candace Cummings, Clemson Extension urban wildlife specialist, and Host Ann Lee McPhail, look at beaver damage in the S.C. Botanical Garden.

Beth Kunkel, Clemson University food science professor, explains the "numbers" in a blood test.

Wednesday, Jan. 5 – Candace Cummings, Clemson Extension urban wildlife specialist, and Host Ann Lee McPhail continue their look in the S.C. Botanical Garden looking at beaver damage and the KOI pond.      

Then, Elizabeth Tolly, Clemson University graduate, shows how to arrange tulips by using a grid. Hosts Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett show their favorite Clemson University bulletins.

Thursday, Jan. 6 – Clemson University Food Science Professor Beth Kunkel talks about the advantages of tea in our diet.

Amanda Nichols, Clemson University student, shows a great idea for using a "natural vase" when arranging flowers.

Friday, Jan. 7 – Hosts Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett answer mail. The first request is for a repeat of the bread machine demo with Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle and the second is for Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw's favorite variety of okra.

At Home, Southern Style is also shown on the South Carolina Channel and scheduled to run on RFDTV on Mondays at 7:30 p.m., which airs on Direct TV on channel 379 and the Dish Network on channel 9409.
