Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. Monday, May 30---Many Southern gardeners use Mondo Grass very effectively, but it needs some upkeep and pruning. David Bradshaw, Clemson Extension nationally known horticulturist, is in the S.C. Botanical Garden. Then Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition specialist, and Kristen Welch, Clemson Extension agent, cook greens that taste wonderful. Tuesday, May 31--- Strawberries are in season. Rhonda Mathews, Clemson Extension agent, is in the strawberry patch and shows how to select the best strawberries. Then Bob Polomski, Clemson Extension horticulturist and author, and Carrie Burris, retired from the Clemson University Horticulture Department, shows how to plant lilies. Wednesday, June 1 -- Chuck Burgess from the Southeast Dairy Council, talks about how to take care of Mom all year long. Then George Kessler, retired Clemson University forestry professor, in this tree talk segment, talks about the proper planting of trees. Thursday, June 2 – Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw visits Host Ann Lee McPhail’s garden to look at yellow iris. Then Liz Speelman, recreational coordinator for the Youth Learning Institute, talks about summer camps the Institute has to offer kids. Friday, June 3—Clemson Extension Agent Elizabeth Hill makes one of her favorites, corn and cabbage. Then Lisa Wagner, education director for the SC. Botanical Garden, and Host Ann Lee McPhail find a shady place in the garden...the Bench Garden. At Home Southern Style can also be seen on the Carolina Channel.
