At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Nov. 28

CLEMSON -- "At Home, Southern Style," a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina ETV Network for the week of Nov. 28. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the show’s website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/.

Monday, Nov. 28 ­ Candace Cummings, Clemson University urban wildlife specialist, answers viewer’s questions about Hummingbirds. Then Meg Wadford, former Clemson University horticulture student, displays a great centerpiece design for the holidays.

Tuesday, Nov. 29- Elizabeth Hill, Clemson Extension agent, gets ready for the Christmas dinner with cranberry vinaigrette salad. Then Candace Cummings, Clemson University urban wildlife specialist, displays a Christmas tree for the birds.

Wednesday, Nov. 30 -­ Host Jeff Bennett and Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition specialist, are "cooking up" alternatives to the traditional holiday turkey.

Thursday, Dec. 1—Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw and James Arnold, S.C. Botanical Garden, look at unusual plants in the S.C. Botanical Garden.

Then the promo for "Touch the Earth" will be shown. It’s a documentary about nature based sculpture in the S.C. Botanical Garden that airs tonight at 7 p.m. on SCETV.

Friday, Dec. 2 ­ It's Arbor Day and Bob Polomski, Clemson Extension horticulturist shows how to select and plant a tree. He also points out the many advantages of trees in the landscape.

At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on the South Carolina Channel. For the week of Nov. 28: Host Jeff Bennett and Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle look at alternatives to the traditional turkey; and Bob Polomski, Clemson Extension horticulture specialist, celebrates Arbor Day by showing how to select and plant trees.
