Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of Clemson Univ. Monday, Oct. 3--Roses are easy to grow if you select the correct type. Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski and Bill Head, co-owner of Head Lee Nursery, give the inside information on roses. Then Clemson Extension Agent Elizabeth Hill shows how to make Broiled Scalloped Tomatoes. Tuesday, Oct. 4 Cotton was once the "King" crop in the South. Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw shows his cotton patch in the Heirlom section of the S.C. Botanical Garden. Clemson University Urban Wildlife Specialist Candace Cummings and Abby Presley, Wildbirds Unlimited of Greenville, display various bird seed that are for specific birds. Wednesday, Oct. 5 - Clemson Extension Agent Carolyn Harris and her guest, Sandra Powell, share the prize winning apple recipes at the Oconee Apple Festival. Then Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle and Sue Hovey, Clemson Extension agent, gives pointers for successful day trips. Thursday, Oct. 6 Clemson Extension Agent Kristen Welch talks about her favorite recipe for beef stew. Then Katherine of the Clemson University Food and Nutrition Department and her daughter Melissa Cason, make Pocket Fruit Pies. Friday, Oct. 7 Chuck Burgess, Clemson University Home and Garden Information Center, shows how to get rid of grubs. Then Clemson University Urban Wildlife Specialist Candace Cummings and Abby Presley of Wildbirds Unlimited of Greenville, show bird houses and gives tips for helping birds to make it through the winter. At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on the South Carolina Channel.
