At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Oct. 31

CLEMSON -- "At Home, Southern Style," a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina ETV Network for the week of Oct. 31. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Communications Center hosts the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the show’s website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/.

Monday, Oct. 31­ The Halloween Special...Host Jeff Bennett is dressed like Rhett Butler and Ann Lee McPhail is a witch for our Halloween Special. Candace Cummings, Clemson University urban wildlife specialist, continues the Halloween theme with Gothis Garden accessories. Beth Kunkel, Clemson University food science and human nutrition department professor, finishes our Halloween special with cooking in pumpkins and orange food.

Tuesday, Nov. 1- Elizabeth Hill, Clemson Extension agent, gives a recipe for chicken barley soup and Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw shows how and when to harvest pumpkins and squash.

Wednesday, Nov. 2 -­ How important is that credit report? Terry Wyatt, Ag South loan officer, explains what a banker looks for in this report. Then we go to Anderson and the lovely garden of Lynn Finley. Bob Polomski, Clemson Extension urban horticulturist, talks with Finley.

Thursday, Nov. 3 -- Clemson Extension Agent and Horticulture Specialist, F. Brian Smith, talk with Helen LaGree Floyd of LaGree Nurseries about sod basics. Then Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw shows the Dwarf Sweetbox in the S.C. Botanical Garden.

Friday, Nov. 4 -­ Answering a request from Garden City, the At Home crew visits with Clemson Extension Horticulturists David Bradshaw and Mike Watkins, and look at heirloom seeds that are available from the S.C. Foundation Seed Association.

At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on the South Carolina Channel. For the week of Oct. 31-Clemson Extension Agent Elizabeth Hill makes Chicken Barley Soup, Ag South Loan Officer Terry Wyatt talks about what bankers look for in a credit report, Clemson Extension Agent F.Brian Smith talks with Helen LaGree Floyd about sod basics, and Clemson University Food and Nutrition Professor Beth Kunkel shows how to cook in pumpkins and use orange food.
