NEWS BRIEF FROM CLEMSON UNIVERSITY ’S PSA MEDIA RELATIONS DATE: 4/12/05 WRITER: Diane Palmer, (864) 656-4741 SPRING PLANT SALE SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 15-16 CLEMSON -- A large variety of spring plants will be for sale at the S.C. Botanical Garden annual Spring Plant Sale, April 15-16. "There will be plenty of perennials, native plants, shrubs, grasses, daylilies and much more," said Christine Drais, public relations director for the garden. Friday's sale on April 15 will be from 2 to 6:30 p.m. This is a preview sale for Friends of the Garden members. New members may join at the gate for first pick. Friends of the Garden memberships are available for a donation of $25 or more and are tax deductible. The sale continues on Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for the public. Admission is free. Master Gardeners, S.C. Botanical Garden staff and volunteers will be available both days to answer landscaping and gardening questions. The garden is located on the Clemson University campus at the intersection of Highway 76 and Silas Pearman Blvd. It encompasses 295 acres of gardens, streams and woodlands, and is open year-round from sunrise to sunset, free of charge.
