Pest Management school to be held Feb. 8-10

COLUMBIA – The 46 th annual S.C. Pest Management Professionals School is scheduled for Feb. 8-10 in Columbia at The Hotel Columbia, formerly known as Adams Mark Hotel .

The school is for owners, managers, pest control technicians and major suppliers.

The cost is $145 if paid before Jan. 15. After Jan. 15 the cost is $170.

“The school draws nearly 500 pest management professionals each year from South Carolina , North Carolina and Georgia ,” said Jackie Ellis, instructor and training coordinator for the Department of Entomology, Soils and Plant Sciences at Clemson University .

Three concurrent sessions are on the schedule – a manager’s session, general pest management technician session and a termite technician session.

The keynote speaker will be a South Carolina National Guard pilot. Socials are also on the agenda and an honor and awards luncheon.

The school is coordinated by Clemson University ’s Department of Entomology, Soils and Plant Sciences in cooperation with the S.C. Pest Control Association (SCPCA) and the Department of Pesticide Regulation.
