Sue Robinson, GPS/GIS specialist, received a plaque and the thanks of the conference planning committee for “outstanding contributions to the conference.” “This was the first time such an award has been given in the 27-year history of the conference,” said Jim Frederick, Clemson University agronomist and member of the organizing committee. “The committee was composed primarily of people from agencies and organizations outside of Clemson, so it was great to see others recognize the work of one of our Clemson professionals.” Robinson played a leading role in planning, including arranging speakers, processing registrations, organizing the agenda, editing the proceedings and developing a web site. “Sue’s efforts helped make the meeting the success it was,” Frederick said. More than 150 scientists from across the South participated in the conference. END
