Your Day radio schedule for week of Aug. 29

CLEMSON -- The following "Your Day" radio programs from Clemson University Radio Productions are scheduled to air on South Carolina ETV Radio for the week of Aug. 29. The program airs from noon to 1 p.m. , Monday through Thursday. Listeners can call in questions during a "live” show by using the toll-free phone number: 1-888-539-8859.

MONDAY, AUGUST 29, 2005 –- Changes in China and International Trade. Dr. Bob Becker, Director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University talks with Dr. Bill Ward, Director of the Center for International Trade at Clemson University.

Schools and Communities. Dr. Gary Melton, director of the Institute on Family and Neighborhood Life at Clemson University talks with Principal Karen Chambers of Sue Cleveland Elementary School and Dr. Joyce L. Epstein, Director of the Center on School, Family, and Community Partnerships and the National Network of Partnership Schools at Johns Hopkins University.

A Body of Work: The Human Figure from Degas to Diebenkorn. Glenn Hare talks with Beth Inman, Associate Curator at t he Columbia Museum of Art about an ongoing exhibition featuring some rarely seen works from the museum’s permanent collection. The exhibit continues through October 2.

Manse: One Man’s War. Paul Brown talks with Wilton Earle, author of Manse: One Man’s War , and Dick Estell of NPR’s Radio Reader, whose reading of this saga based upon the true story of Confederate scout and Reconstruction outlaw Manson Sherrill Jolly begins to air on August 31. Manse: One Man’s War, an unabridged version read by Dick Estell, is now available as an audiobook from Adept Books of Atlanta. Get the September 2005 book tour details.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2005Three gardeners in conversation. Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski hosts garden writer Jim Wilson, former host of PBS Television’s Victory Garden , and Joe Maple, Spartanburg Master Gardener. For additional gardening advice, contact the Clemson Extension Home and Garden Information Center.

Selections from the off-air archives on insects and other household pests. Charlotte Holt hosts Cam Lay, assistant department head for Pesticide Regulation, and Dr. Eric Benson, Clemson Extension Urban Entomologist in discussions recorded off the air. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31 2005 Action for Healthy Kids. Host Libby Hoyle, Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist in the Clemson University Department of Packaging Sciences visits with registered dieticians Dottie Ryan and Laura Simpson of the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association.

Dr. Glenn Birrenkott of the Clemson University Department of Animal & Veterinary Sciences is joined by his former students, Dr. Nathan Craddock of Tiger Town Animal Hospital in Clemson and Dr. Bobby Long of Magnolia Veterinary Clinic in Anderson.
