Your Day radio schedule for week of June 6

CLEMSON -- The following "Your Day" radio programs from Clemson University Radio Productions are scheduled to air on South Carolina ETV Radio for the week of June 6. MONDAY, JUNE 6 –- The Reedy River Watershed . Dr. Bob Becker, director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University , talks with Jeffrey Allen, director of the SC Water Resources Center and Rebekah Guss, education coordinator for the Reedy River Watershed.

Safe Families for Children. Dr. Gary Melton, director of the Institute on Family and Neighborhood Life at Clemson University , talks with Dr. David Anderson of the Lydia Home Association in Chicago about the Safe Families for Children Program.

Beach Music Day in the Capital City . Roy Scott brings us highlights from the Fifth Annual Beach Music Day in the Capital City held on April 13 in Columbia . Between songs we hear from event organizers Billy Scott, chairman, Harry Turner, president, and Dave Freeman, board member of Beach Music Association International, along with Rep. John “Bubber” Snow. On June 10, the SC State Museum presents a Beach Music Blast featuring the official state popular music and the official state dance of South Carolina .

TUESDAY, JUNE 7 – A live call-in segment ongardening in South Carolina . Hosted by Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski and his guests Pat Henry, co-owner of Roses Unlimited in Laurens, and Melodie Scott-Leach, director of horticulture at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in Columbia . Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition specialist in the Clemson University Department of Packaging Sciences, takes questions on "Moving South Carolina Towards A Healthy Weight,” an effort of the SC DHEC Division of Obesity Prevention and Control. THURSDAY, JUNE 9 – Historic Little Mountain . Donna London of the Jim Self Center on the Future, talks with Mayor Buddy Johnson of Little Mountain, SC about preserving the character of the community known as the heart of the Dutch Fork.

The impact of warfare on wildlife and the environment. Peter Kent talks with Neelu Sharma, a Fulbright scholar visiting Clemson University from Jammu and Kashmir in India .

Container gardening . Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski considers this solution to limited garden space.

Self Defense andRape Prevention. Jon Keith talks with Dr. Ed Carney, senior minister at Riverland Hills Baptist Church , about a program of self-defense for women.

Good Sam Camping. Bob Schuster attended the spring Samboree of the Good Sams Club, an organization of RV owners, to learn more about the Good Sams charity efforts.

Roast Chicken with Rutabaga and Lemon . Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition specialist in the Clemson University Department of Packaging Science , takes us to the kitchen of McCrady’s in Charleston to visit with Chef Michael Kramer.
