Your Day radio schedule for week of Mar. 28

CLEMSON -- The following "Your Day" radio programs from Clemson University Radio Productions are scheduled to air on South Carolina ETV Radio for the week of Mar. 28. The program airs from noon to 1 p.m. , Monday through Thursday. Listeners can call in questions during a "live” show by using the toll-free phone number: 1-888-539-8859.

MONDAY, MAR. 28 –- An update on the Economy. Dr. Bob Becker, director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University , talks with Bruce Yandle, a Senior Fellow at the Thurmond Institute and author of the quarterly newsletter, The Economic Situation Report. Yandle, a Clemson University alumni distinguished professor emeritus of economics, is a past member of the S.C. State Board of Economic Advisors and former Executive Director of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. He currently serves as interim Dean of the College of Business and Behavioral Science at Clemson University .

American Attitudes toward Parents and Youth . Gary Melton, director of the Institute on Family and Neighborhood Life (IFNL) at Clemson University , talks with Dr. John Holton, research director of Prevent Child Abuse America in Chicago .

A New Collection of Short Stories . Catherine Paul of the Clemson University English Department, talks with Brock Clarke, creative writing professor at the University of Cincinnati and author of the novel Ordinary White Boy and the upcoming collection Carrying the Torch.

South Carolina ’s role in the Revolutionary War . Bob Schuster tours an exhibit with assistant Director of the Charleston Museum Carl Borick.

TUESDAY, MAR. 29Spring Gardening. A selection of seasonal questions and answers about lawn and garden issues taken from our live call-in gardening discussions and featuring the expertise of Clemson University Extension and Horticulture personnel. Insects and Other Creatures . Selected moments from some recent discussions about insects and other household pests that took place off the air. Charlotte Holt hosts Clemson Extension Entomologist Eric Benson and Cam Lay, assistant department head for Pesticide Regulation. WEDNESDAY, MAR. 30 – Kitchen Makeovers. Host Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist in the Clemson University Department of Packaging Sciences, talks with registered dietician Dottie Ryan of the Southeast United Dairy Association.

Pet Healthcare, Habits, and Needs. A selection of moments taken from recent off-air discussions of pet care topics. Dr. Glenn Birrenkott of the Clemson University Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences hosts Dr. Bobby Long of Magnolia Veterinary Clinic in Anderson and Dr. Nathan Craddock of Tiger Town Animal Hospital in Clemson.

THURSDAY, MAR. 31 – The Biltmore Estate in Asheville , NC . Donna London of the Jim Self Center on the Future talks with Parker Andes, director of horticulture for Biltmore Estate at a recent meeting of the SC Forestry Council and the SC Chapter of the American Planning Association.

The Threat to the American Bald Eagle . Peter Kent talks with Bill Bowerman, associate professor of wildlife ecology and toxicology in Clemson University ’s Department of Forestry and Natural Resources.

A Preventable Form of Cancer. Jon Keith talks with Dr. John Popp, president of the American College of Gastroenterology, about colorectal cancer prevention and treatment.

Visiting Historic Abbeville , SC . An introduction to the historic sites from Vicky Strange, assistant director of the Abbeville Chamber of Commerce and local historian May Hutchinson.

Everything Must Change . Some thoughts from Meg Barnhouse of Radio Free Bubba, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spartanburg and author of Waking Up the Karma Fairy: Life Lessons and Other Holy Adventures.
