DATE: 9/4/06 CONTACT: Amy McCune, 864-656-6651; amccune@clemson.edu WRITER: Diane Palmer, 864-656-4741; spalmer@clemson.edu 4-H schedules golf tournament for Sept. 28 CLEMSON – Clemson University’s 4-H Youth Development has scheduled a 4-H Invitational Golf Tournament at Hillcrest Golf Club in Orangeburg on Sept. 28. The tournament will begin with registration at 10 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 11 a.m. A reception and awards ceremony at the picnic shelter will begin at 4:30 p.m. and conclude at 5:30 p.m. Prizes will be given for the longest drive; most accurate drive and closest to the pin. To be a platinum sponsor the cost is $2,000; $1,000 for a gold sponsor; $350 for a hole sponsor; $240 for a team sponsor; and $60 for an individual player. 4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H Youth Development is dedicated to teaching these qualities to South Carolina’s youth and recognizing and rewarding them for making good decisions and positive contributions to their community. The proceeds will be used to expand and enhance South Carolina 4-H programs and opportunities such as National 4-H Congress and National 4-H Conference. From I-26, take Exit 145 at Highway 601 into Orangeburg. Travel through four traffic lights. Look for large Hillcrest Golf Club masonry marker on the right. Turn right onto State A & M Rd.
