DATE: 12/11/06 CONTACT: Paul Thompson, 803-684-9919; pthmpsn@clemson.edu WRITER: Diane Palmer, 864-656-4741; spalmer@clemson.edu Clemson Extension offers shortcourse to prepare for landscape and nursery exam ROCK HILL – Clemson Extension and the South Carolina Nursery and Landscape Association (SCNLA) are offering a short course to prepare participants who work in the landscape and nursery industry to take the written portion of the SCNLA’s exam. Topics covered will include: plant anatomy and physiology, soils and fertilizers, landscape design, installation and maintenance, turfgrass installation and maintenance, greenhouse and nursery production, and pest management. The course will be taught in five different three and one half hour classes at York County Complex, 1070 Heckle Blvd, Building 1C, Rock Hill. Cost is $60 for each participant. Make checks payable to York County Extension Fund. Deadline for registration is Jan. 17. Class is limited to the first 40 applicants. Classes begin Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. with subsequent classes on Jan. 25 and 30 and Feb. 1 and 6. Handouts will be provided but it is advisable to purchase the SCNLA Study Manual to provide additional information not covered in the classes.
