Clemson conference will focus on familes, communities, youths

MYRTLE BEACH – Families, communities and young people face new issues every day, according to Deborah Thomason, Clemson Extension family and consumer sciences state program leader.

“During times of change, families, communities and youths need proven strategies for success that will improve their quality of life,” she said. “That’s why Clemson Extension is offering a conference to bring together professionals who work with them.”

The conference -- “Strenghtening Families, Youth and Communities: Focus on the Future” -- will be held at Springmaid Resort and Conference Center in Myrtle Beach Feb. 12-15. Registration is $250.

It is for educators and human services workers who are working at the national, state, regional and local levels. The conference will showcase programs of excellence across the country.

The focus will be on families; 4-H and youth development; nutrition and wellness; and community development and public policy.
