DATE: 8/7/06 CONTACT: Ann Lee McPhail, 864-656-5951; amcphl@clemson.edu At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Aug. 14 CLEMSON -- "At Home, Southern Style," a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina Educational Television Network for the week of Aug. 14 Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Video Production Services host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the shows website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected programs Monday, Aug. 14 -- We continue with a wrap-around piece from last Friday. Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw demonstrates the second part of grafting Japanese Maples. Then Host Jeff Bennett goes into the kitchen with David Howell, Clemson University Food Science and Human Nutrition Department professor, to cook a Boston Butt Roast in a crock pot. Tuesday, Aug. 15 -- Barbara Yon, artist and garden expert, has the ability to see possibilities in items that others would call -- well junk. And, she makes it beautiful. Then Sergio Montenegro, Clemson University Food Science and Human Nutrition Department professor, visits with John Barrett of Monterey Mushrooms. They cook up some great recipes. Wednesday, Aug. 16-- Lisa Wagner, education director for the S.C. Botanical Garden, gives a tour of her kitchen garden, which is right at her back door. Then Clemson University Food Science and Human Nutrition Professor Beth Kunkel talks about when not to drink grapefruit juice. Thursday, Aug. 17—Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski visits with Bob McCartney of Woodlanders Nursery in Aiken. Friday, Aug. 18 -- It's apple season and we celebrate with two great apple recipes. Rhonda Matthews, Clemson Extension agent, makes red hot apples and Elizabeth Hill, retired Clemson Extension agent, makes apple enchiladas.
