Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Video Productions Services host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m. Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-5951 or at the shows website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected Friday programs. Monday, Dec. 11 Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw is out in the garden looking for plants that have winter interest. The featured plant for this week is the hardy Cyclamen. Then Host Jeff Bennett and Candace Cummings, Clemson University urban wildlife specialist, make a bird feeder out of day old bread -- a great project to do with a young person. Tuesday, Dec. 12 – Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle and Kristen Welch, Clemson Extension agent, gives a great recipe for cooking collard greens. Then David Bradshaw, Clemson Extension horticulturist, gives some great pointers for a yard renovation. Wednesday, Dec. 13 There is so much information on food packaging labels. It is now easier to find and understand the facts you need. Beth Kunkel, Clemson University food science and human nutrition professor, talks about what to look for. Then Candace Cummings, Clemson Extension urban wildlife specialist, discusses squirrels. Thursday, Dec. 14 Sergio Nieto-Montenegro, food science and human nutrition professor, and John Barrett, Monterey Mushroom Inc., talks about mushrooms and how to use them in this part two interview. Then David Bradshaw, Clemson Extension horticulturist, looks at Yellow Iris. Friday, Dec. 15 This time of year there is really nothing that looks good in the Garden, unless you are in the S.C. Botanical Garden, where Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw looks at Japanese Holly Ferns. Then Candace Cummings, Clemson Extension urban wildlife specialist, gets Host Ann Lee McPhail ready for the return of Hummingbirds.
