At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of June 19

CLEMSON -- "At Home, Southern Style," a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina Educational Television Network for the week of June 12. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of the Clemson University Video Production Services host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the show’s website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/. The questions will be answered on selected programs.

June 19, Monday – Volunteer Wendy Farnum and Lisa Wagner, educational director for the S.C. Botanical Garden, take a tour of the "shady" part of the Garden. Karen Leggett, Clemson Extension associate, and Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition professor, discuss watermelons.

June 20, Tuesday -- Bob Polomski and Micky Taylor, Clemson University horticulturists, visit the green houses. Host Ann Lee McPhail and Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Professor Libby Hoyle discuss what to do with food during an emergency.

June 21, Wednesday – During an emergency, water is a necessity – Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Professor Libby Hoyle and Host Ann Lee McPhail explain what one needs. David Bradshaw, Clemson Extension horticulturist, explains xeroscaping and how the principal works.

June 22, Thursday -- Elizabeth Hill, Clemson Extension agent, whips up a Jamaican pecan dish. Clemson Extension Horticulturist Bob Polomski talks with Stewart Chandler, horticulturist, at a nursery in south Georgia. They will show some unusual vines.

June 23, Friday – Host Ann Lee McPhail visits with Iris expert Rae McBride in her Anderson garden. Then our youngest food expert, Melissa Cason, talks with Sergio Montenegro, nutritionist from Penn State.

At Home, Southern Style can also be seen on The South Carolina Channel.
