At Home, Southern Style TV schedule for week of Oct. 2

CLEMSON -- "At Home, Southern Style," a Clemson University TV program, will air on the South Carolina ETV Network for the week of Oct. 2. Ann Lee McPhail and Jeff Bennett of Clemson University Video Production Services host the program each week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 to 6:45 a.m.

Viewers may ask questions about a subject that was featured on the program by e-mail at athome-L@clemson.edu, by phone at (864) 656-3204 or at the show's website at: http://AtHome.clemson.edu/.

Monday, Oct. 2 -- If you want something in your yard that is really a show stopper, David Bradshaw, Clemson Extension horticulturist and naturalist, suggests using Coleus in mass plantings. Then Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition specialist, and Sue Hovey, Clemson Extension agent, whip up a great recipe for Mediterranean Chicken.

Tuesday, Oct. 3 -- Ever heard of Banana Cornbread? Well Clemson Extension Agent Rhonda Mathews and her guest make this unusual recipe. Then John Barrett of Monteray Mushrooms is the guest of Sergio Montenegro, Clemson University food science professor. They discuss mushrooms.

Wednesday, Oct. 4 ­ Bob Polomski, Clemson Extension horticulturist, and Bill Head, co-owner of Head-Lee Nursery in Seneca, begin a two-part gardening series starting with soil preparation.

Thursday, Oct. 5 – Clemson Extension Horticulturist David Bradshaw concludes our fall gardening series with suggestions for the fall garden. Then Hosts Jeff Bennett and Ann Lee McPhail share ideas on great books about gardening that can be ordered through the Bulletin Room at Clemson University .

Friday, Oct. 6 -- Where in the south is Bob Schuster? This time Bob takes a shrimping adventure to meet some great people and learn some interesting facts. Hosts Jeff Bennett and Ann Lee McPhail display two books that feature shrimp recipes that can be ordered from Clemson University ’s Bulletin Room.

At Home Southern Style can also be seen on The South Carolina Channel. Programs for this week feature our Fall Garden series with Bob Polomski, Bill Head and David Bradshaw, plus some great publications on gardening.
