Beekeeping short course to be held July 20

CLEMSON -- An Introductory Beekeeping Short Course for Beginners is scheduled for July 20 at Clemson University during the South Carolina Beekeepers Association summer meeting.

A few of the topics to be discussed are: honey bee biology; diseases and pests; handling and packaging honey; and honey harvest and extraction.

The course will be taught in the Poole Agricultural Center auditorium and the Cherry Farm Honey House. It is open to the public and pre-registration is not required.

Registration cost for the meeting which includes the short course is $3 for members of the South Carolina Beekeepers Association and $8 for nonmembers.
