Healthy Lifestyle PSA winners announced

GREENVILLE -- Connor Gibson, a seventh grader at Riverside Middle School in Greenville County , recently won first place in the Healthy Lifestyle Public Service Announcement (PSA) competition. Second place went to Emma Lightsey, a sixth grader at League Academy .

Approximately 200 Greenville County middle school students submitted 30 second PSA’s for the competition.

Students wrote about the importance of eating breakfast, the five main food groups, why one should limit the amount of fast food a person consumes and other healthy eating practices.

They were judged on content.

Gibson’s PSA was aired on the radio and he won a cash prize.

The competition was sponsored by Clemson Extension Service and the South Carolina Family and Community Leaders.
