Botanical Garden to hold plant sale April 21-22 CLEMSON -- The South Carolina Botanical Garden has scheduled its spring plant sale for April 21-22. “Spring is peak planting time,” said Christine Drais, public relations director for the garden. “We have a huge selection of perennials, native plants, shrubs, grasses, shade plants, daylilies and more.” The Preview Sale for Friends of the Garden members will begin April 21 from 2:30 to 6 p.m. New members may join at the gate for first pick of the huge selection of flowers and plants. Friends of the Garden memberships are tax deductible. The sale continues April 22 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for the public. Master Gardeners, S.C. Botanical Garden staff and volunteers will be available both days to answer gardening and landscaping questions. The Garden is on the Clemson University campus at the intersection of Highway 76 and Perimeter Road. It encompasses 295 acres of gardens, streams and woodlands and is open year-round from sunrise to sunset free of charge.
