Clemson gives Boring statewide farm management programming

CLEMSON – Clemson University has given Toby Boring statewide responsibilities for farm management educational programming.

Boring, a consultant in the Agri-Business Management Association program in Greenwood, now has expanded duties as statewide Extension specialist for Farm Business and Financial Management, according to Hoke Hill, chairman of the Department of Applied Economics and Statistics.

“He will fill a critical need in the farm management program area, which has experienced a shortage of manpower due to lost positions and retirements,” said Hill.

Boring will continue to work out of the Greenwood County Extension office while providing statewide assistance for programs and activities in financial management and analysis, record keeping, business planning and farm management.

A native of Tennessee, Boring came to Clemson University from the University of Kentucky in 1987 to start the first Farm Management Association in Sumter, Clarendon and Lee counties. He will still support the Agri-Business Management Association program as needed.

Boring may be reached by office phone at (843) 942-8590 or cell phone at (864) 980-3833. His e-mail address is tboring@clemson.edu.
