MONDAY, JANUARY 1
For Goodness Sake: Seven Basic Virtues.
Dr. Bob Becker, director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University , talks with Dr. Charles Bryan; Heyward Gibbes distinguished professor of Internal Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and the author of For Goodness Sake:  Seven Basic Virtues. Dr. Bryan addressed Clemson University 's Calhoun Lecture Series on Sept. 14 on the topic "To Build an Edifice of Character: Why and How in Today's Society?"

Snowflakes and other winter weather lore. Clemson Agricultural Meteorologist Dale Linvill shares facts and fiction about the snowflake.

Gullah books for children. Dr. Michelle Martin, a specialist in children's and young adult literature in Clemson University 's English Department, is joined by Clemson graduate student Emily Atkins in a reading and discussion of picture books from the Gullah tradition.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 2

Charlotte Holt hosts the Bug Guys: Cam Lay, assistant head of the Department of Pesticide Regulation and Dr. Eric Benson, Clemson Extension urban entomologist. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3
A live call-in hour with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SC DNR).
Host Mike Willis, communications director for the SC Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR), welcomes his colleagues, Sgt. Lynwood Kearse with the DNR Law Enforcement Division, the coordinator of the department's Take One, Make One (TOMO) program, and Bebe Harrison of the DNR Outreach and Support Services Division who heads the S.C. Reel Kids aquatic education program. Both TOMO and Reel Kids are youth recruitment and retention programs, designed to get children and young adults involved in traditional wildlife-related outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. Listeners may call in with questions for these DNR representatives via the toll-free number 888-539-8859.

United States .  Donna London, director of the Jim Self Center on the Future, talks with Rick Holley, president and CEO of Plum Creek, a member of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Board at the 38th annual meeting of the SC Forestry Association on Nov. 16.

Fun with Mr. Picasso Head. Eric Rodgers talks with Internet expert and blogger Phil Yanov, executive director of the GSA Technology Council and president of Thinkhammer Communications, about an Internet toy.

A taste of the South in Chicago . Libby Hoyle, Clemson Extension food and nutrition specialist in the Department of Packaging Science at Clemson University, travels to the National Restaurant Association show held in Chicago to talk with two South Carolina vendors: Coach Joe Crosby of Coach Joe's Low Country Boil Products and Kelly Wicker and Tracy Richardson from Lillie's of Charleston

Carrot-Ginger Soup. Abbeville County Extension Agent Rhonda Matthews visits the kitchen of Roberts of Charleston and talks with Chef Robert Dickson and his daughter Chef MariElena Raya.
