However, others face challenges and temptations that can have a long-lasting negative effect. The third annual Youth Health Fest has been scheduled to help educate youths from 12 to 19 years old on how to face those challenges with a positive and healthy attitude, according to Marian Robinson, Clemson Extension community health specialist. The event will begin at 9 a.m., Sept. 23, at the Fusion Warehouse located at 3223 Mall Road in Anderson. It will conclude at 3:30 p.m. Agencies or organizations can bring up to 12 youths for $25. Individuals are also welcome at the cost of $5. Each youth must be accompanied by an adult leader. The event is limited to the first 125 registrants. “The day will be filled with fun and interactive sessions that address health and quality of life issues,” said Robinson. Local professionals and a special guest will address topics such as: responsible relationships, physical health and wellness, ethics, conflict resolution, nutrition, and tobacco and substance abuse prevention. Send registration forms and checks to Anderson-Oconee Minority Health Coalition, P.O. Box 1345, Anderson, SC 29622-1345. Checks should be payable to Anderson-Oconee Minority Health Coalition.
