Description: |
The CUET Valentine’s Horse Show is organized and managed
by members of the Clemson University Equestrian Team. The event
serves as a fundraiser for the team, as well as a great learning
experience for members. The Valentine’s Show is part of
the newly established Clemson mini-circuit. Money raised goes
to help offset the cost of training, traveling and competing,
and also allows us to participate in more intercollegiate events,
thus making the team and Clemson more well-known in the equine
community. The show will offer a variety of classes in Halter,
Hunt Seat (including Over Fences), Western, Gaited and Fun & Games
(including a costume class). Classes and Entry Fees are as follows:
$8 per class, Grounds Fee $10/horse - (Not required w/stall),
$25/day camper or trailer hookup, Stalls $40/day OR $70/weekend
(includes 2 bags of shavings), Tack Stalls $25/stall, Extra Shavings
$5/bag. COMPETITORS CAN PRE-REGISTER FOR $50/DAY AND COMPETE
IN AS MANY CLASSES AS DESIRED. Note: 12 month current, negative

Top cowboys and cowgirls compete in IPRA sanctioned rodeo
in bronc riding, steer wrestling, bull riding, barrel racing,
team roping, and calf roping. Additional entertainment will be
the One Arm Bandit John S. Payne. A popular rodeo act throughout
the United States , Canada and Europe . Payne performs outstanding
riding exhibitions on horseback and while herding longhorn steers.
Payne is one of rodeo's favorite entertainers. By the time he
is done with his act, he will have his horse and a small herd
of paint horses on top of his trailer. He lost an arm following
an accident when 7,200 volts passed through his body for 10 seconds
while he was working as an electrician. Through CPR, he lived
to spread havoc across the United States , Canada and eventually
the world. He had been a rodeo entertainer before the accident
and quickly recovered to return to the rodeo arena. Born in Oklahoma
, Payne has ranched there with his father and four older brothers
while not on the rodeo circuit. Ranch life taught John to get
out of the way or get run over. Great Family entertainment. Indoor
arena with full service concessions and vendors with novelties,
clothing, hats, jewelry, and other merchandise. Purchase tickets
in advance beginning Feb. 13 at the following ticket outlets:
Rabbit Box Feed Store in Central on Hwy 93; Rogers Stereo in
Anderson and Greenville . Cowboy Express on Woodruff Rd. Greenville
; Flat Rock Farm & Garden on Hwy 178 in Liberty and Bergens
in downtown Seneca. The outlets will stop selling tickets on
Thursday afternoon Feb.22. Tickets will be available at the Garrison
Arena on Feb 23 at 1 pm. Note: All general admission tickets
are concrete risers-nothing numbered-first come first serve.
You may bring blanket or stadium seat to sit on. NO LAWN CHAIRS
PLEASE. $17 tickets are assigned seats by row and section. Actually
have a seat to sit in like a theater type seat with a back on
it. These tickets are $17 regardless of age. All tickets may
be purchased at the ticket window or one of the above outlets. 864-859-4364 |
