Jeffrey Callaham art exhibit opens at S.C. Botanical Garden

CLEMSON –A new art exhibit at the South Carolina Botanical Garden Discovery Center Gallery has opened. The exhibit will run through June by McCormick artist Jeffrey Callaham. The vivid scenes capture a bygone era in southern culture and bring to life stories, family traditions and memories from the artist’s rural South Carolina heritage.

An opening reception is Friday, April 13, from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Callaham will be on hand to meet and greet. A special treat of live chickens adds to the exhibit flavor. There will also be live music.

Callaham will also do a walk-through presentation telling his colorful stories about each painting May 19 from 4 to 7 pm. Tickets are $20, which includes refreshments. Proceeds benefit the art gallery.

Callaham is a full-time artist in residence at the McCormick Arts Council Keturah.

The Garden is on the Clemson University campus at the intersection of Highway 76 and Perimeter Road. It encompasses 295 acres of gardens, streams and woodlands and is open year-round from sunrise to sunset free of charge.
