Botanical Garden to host Clemson Flower Day – June 7

CLEMSON – The S.C. Botanical Garden and the Garden Club of South Carolina are hosting a Clemson Flower Day on Thursday, June 7 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Botanical Garden. Admission is free.

The event is for everyone. Flower designs will be on display throughout the Fran Hanson Discovery Center. Heirloom vegetable seeds will be for sale.

“Landscaping with Native Plants” workshops will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Foothills Garden Club will provide refreshments.

Paintings of colorful scenes of rural farm life in South Carolina by McCormick artist Jeffrey Callaham will also be on display.

“This will be a fun day for everyone filled with beautiful flower displays, educational programs and southern hospitality,” said Christine Drais, public relations director of Garden.

The South Carolina Botanical Garden is located on the Clemson University campus at the intersection of Highway 76 and Perimeter Road. It encompasses 295 acres of gardens, streams and woodlands, and is open year-round from sunrise to sunset, free of charge.
