Botanical Garden Nov. 12-14 in the Hayden Conference Center. It is being offered to garden club members, nurserymen and anyone who has an interest in landscape design. Course I is the first of four courses of the National Garden Clubs Inc. Landscape Design Study Program. Federated garden club members may take the courses out of sequence and in any state, provided they are at least six months apart and within a five year period. No more than two courses may be taken for credit in a one year period. Plus, they are eligible for landscape consultant certificates. Certificates of achievement will be issued to non-members who meet the requirements as landscape consultants. The requirements are attending all 10 hours of lectures, passing each examination with a minimum score of 70, and completing the reading assignments for each of the four courses. Consultants may take a refresher course after one year, but must take the course before five years from the date of the certificate. They must attend all lectures and do the required reading, but do not have to take an exam. National Council requires that all students taking the course for credit or as a refresher must subscribe to The National Gardener and present a current label with the registration form. The instructors are approved and well qualified. A wine and cheese reception will be held at the Fran Hanson Discovery Center on Nov. 12. Instruction will be Nov. 12-13 with the exam on Nov. 14. The course may also be audited. Course I plus exam is $55. Refresher credit or audit is $50; one day attendance is $25. Box lunch is $10. Registration deadline is Nov. 5.
