Your Day radio schedule for week of May 7

CLEMSON -- The following "Your Day" radio programs from Clemson University Radio Productions are scheduled to air on South Carolina ETV Radio for the week of May 7. The program airs from noon to 1 p.m. , Monday through Thursday. Listeners can call in questions during a "live” show by using the toll-free phone number: 1-888-539-8859.

MONDAY, MAY 7, 2007
Barnwell. Bob McAnally visits the community of Barnwell to preview the upcoming ETV Road Show scheduled for May 17 in downtown Barnwell.

National and state parks management. Bob Becker, director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University , in a second conversation with Fran Mainella, the former director of the National Park Service, and with Brett Wright, chair of Clemson University ’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management.

The volunteer Guardian ad Litem program. We learn what’s involved in this program to advocate for abused and neglected children from volunteer and Clemson University Police Officer Jimmy Moore. A fundraiser for the Pickens County Guardian ad Litem program takes place May 12 at Clemson University .


Arts on the Alley. Bob Becker, director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University , talks with Mayor Dan Alexander and City Administrator Greg Detrich of the Oconee County city of Seneca . The 2007 Arts on the Alley celebration takes place May 11 and 12 in downtown Seneca.

Mother’s Day weekend at Darlington Raceway. Bob Schuster visits with the president of the Darlington Raceway to learn what’s planned for the upcoming NASCAR weekend in Darlington , May 11-13.


TUESDAY, MAY 8, 2007
Edgefield. Bob McAnally visits the community of Edgefield to preview the upcoming ETV Road Show scheduled for May 18 in downtown Edgefield.

McCormick , SC. Bob McAnally visits McCormick County to preview the upcoming ETV Road Show scheduled for May 21 in downtown McCormick.

A live call-in hour on pet healthcare issues . Glenn Birrenkott of the Clemson University Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences hosts Dr. Nathan Craddock of Tiger Town Animal Hospital in Clemson. Listeners may call in with questions via the toll-free number: 888-539-8859.

THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2007
Aiken , SC. Bob McAnally visits Aiken to preview the upcoming ETV Road Shows scheduled for May 19 and 22 in Aiken County .

Communication that informs decisions .   Donna London, director of the Jim Self Center on the Future, talks with John Daly from the College of Communications at the University of Texas at Austin about how we convey information that helps leaders makes decisions. Daly participated in the recent Hometown Legislative Action Day conducted by the Municipal Association of South Carolina.

Columbia Green Society. We learn about efforts to promote the beautification of downtown Columbia , from Donald McInnes, secretary of the Columbia Green Society. The annual Columbia Green Festival of Gardening takes place May 17 and 19.

Charred Yellow-fin Tuna. Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Specialist Libby Hoyle of Clemson University’s Department of Packaging Science visits the kitchen of Chef Tim Armstrong at the Old Village Post House restaurant in Mt. Pleasant .
