Bob Becker, director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University , talks with Bruce Yandle, a senior fellow at the Thurmond Institute and author of the quarterly newsletter, The Economic Situation Report. Yandle, a Clemson University alumni distinguished professor emeritus of economics, is a past member of the S.C. State Board of Economic Advisors and former executive director of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. The music of World War II. Glenn Hare of the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts learns the history of America ’s World War II experience as it is revealed through the music of the era from Mark Hosler, music historian and professor in the Clemson University Department of Performing Arts. Roy Scott talks with documentary filmmaker Ken Burns about his work in producing The War, a PBS documentary series on World War II. He learns about the director’s inspiration and his process and about the Veterans History Project, a nationwide outreach effort to capture the stories of all WWII veterans and their families.
