     Enclosed is the 1999 Safe Food for South Carolina Families
Packet prepared by Clemson University Public Service Activities.
We hope this will be useful to you in preparing articles on food
safety topics. All the information in the enclosed pieces came
from the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service and the
S.C. Agriculture and Forestry Research System. This information
is also available on computer disk upon request and online at our

     We encourage you to contact the county Extension personnel
in your area. They can offer you a wealth of information on all
areas of food safety and preservation.  Also, our new Home and 
Garden Information Center provides information on food safety and 
preservation through a computerized interactive voice response
