The Clemson Universtiy Invasive Species Program recruits middle and high school aged youth to help with the early detection of invasive species in South Carolina! Families, school groups, camps and other organizations can register for the Junior Invasive Inspectors Program. Adult leaders will be given curriculum written for teaching children of all ages about general invasive species awareness, understanding latitude and longitude, recognizing targeted forest pests and symptoms of decline in trees. Clemson will also supply each group of Junior Inspectors with survey backpacks filled with all of the supplies needed to conduct field surveys. Any reports of suspicious signs and symptoms will be investigated by DPI inspectors. Each participant will get to keep thier survey water bottle and jotter pad.  Leaders get to keep a nice, leather bound notebook, flashdrive with all the information on it, and water bottle.
