The Lake House
The Lake House at the Sandhill Research and Education Center offers a natural, scenic venue for meetings, seminars and celebrations. Sandhill REC is a natural area where species such as snakes, alligators, coyotes, raccoons, deer and other wild animals are native inhabitants. Inside, the upstairs level and ground level each have over 2000 square feet of available meeting space. Upstairs can accommodate 100 individuals in a classroom setting and 150-175 in a theater-style setting. The rustic ground level has a seating capacity of 50-75. The facility is handicap accessible and has restrooms on both levels.
Agribusiness Center Boardroom
Located atop the LEED Gold Agribusiness Center, the boardroom offers and executive level space for up to 15 persons. The private floor features a catering kitchen (no stove), large screen flat panel television with a VGA connection, a conference style telephone, private restroom and floor to ceiling views of the Lake House and grounds.
Agribusiness Center Conference Room G01
Located in the lower level, this open space can be adapted for classroom seating (50-60) or an open reception. The area has a large catering kitchen (no stove) and adjacent restrooms. A large screen flat panel television with a VGA connection is available for presentations and floor to ceiling windows provide views of the adjacent pond and grounds. This area also features a furnished seating area.
Agribusiness Center Conference Room G02
Located in the lower level, this private glassed space can serve classroom seating of up to 25. The area has floor to ceiling views of the adjacent pond and grounds. Restrooms are available on the same level.
Richland County Extension Small Conference Room
Located on the upper level of the offices on Experiment Road, this conference suite can accommodate 20 in a classroom style arrangement. Restrooms are located on the main level.
Richland County Extension Large Conference Room
Located on the lower level of the offices on Experiment Road, this conference suite can accommodate 30 in a classroom style arrangement. Restrooms are on the same level and the pre-function area is available for catering.
Portions of the grounds are available for lease to registered 501c3 entities. Leasing is also available for private corporate events. Utilities are not provided. The lessee is subject to approval and must comply with all areas of the lease agreement. A scheduled meeting with REC staff is required as part of the planning process.
This area is located across from the Village of Sandhill entrance and is available for roadside vending. Utilities are not provided. The stoplight for this area is a three-way light and does not serve the punchout when exiting. The application process requires approval and in many cases liability insurance is required. Vending without permission is prohibited by law.
