The Tree House Ravine provides a physical connection to the Children’s Garden through the tree line, allowing children to experience the tree canopy while framing the central, grassy meadow to the North.
The actual path is generated by the existing conditions on the site; bending around trees and revealing itself on the meadow at special moments. The Tree House climbs 25 feet into the tree canopy, while maintaining a 1:12 slope in order to ensure access to all visitors.
The nine points at which the path bends around a tree are enlarged to create spaces for gathering and playing. Many of these play activities spill into the underside of the tree house and occupy the veiled rooms below. The underside of the Tree House becomes its own world of excitement and exploration.
