October 4 ~ Christy LaFrance
The Americana-folk style of Christy LaFrance lends itself well to her honest and often vulnerable songwriting. Her new EP was recorded in a studio with just a few microphones, a guitar, and mostly just one take. The musical influences of Ani DiFranco to Shawn Colvin can be felt throughout her style and writing. “Songwriting helps me make sense of things, and it’s cheaper than therapy! Lately my writing is like a self-recovery mission. Many of the songs, on Without Lines, are about uncovering faith, creativity, and finding your true self under the rubble of busyness, boxed Christianity, and veils we hide behind.” Christy is a wife, mom of two amazing children, and has been a worship leader for almost 5 years. Her husband, Marcus Williamson, often adds his background vocals and bass guitar when playing live.
October 11 ~ Ali and Tim Riehm
This brother and sister first started making music in their church's children’s choir and later evolved into separate artists with different sounds. Recently, these two have joined forces to create what they hope will be a unique, alternative harmony and voice. They enjoy playing their own originals as well as covers, but with a twist. As a Clemson student and alumni, Tim and Ali are excited to perform in one of the college's most beautiful settings.
October 18 ~ Christopher Branch
A powerhouse singer/songwriter who takes his cues from his South Carolina forerunners Edwin McCain & Hootie & the Blowfish, but also lets his own simplistic & unique songwriting shine through ...
October 25 ~ Tony Tidwell
After nearly a decade since his last release, Tony Tidwell is set to release his fourth album entitled Love Is Not A Word. The album will be released October 1, 2013 on Ghostmeat Records- home of Tidwell’s first two albums Tony Tidwell & The Scalded Dogs (1996) and Out Of The Way (1998).
November 1 ~ CU Traditional Dance Music Ensemble
is a student ensemble at Clemson University that plays music from both the contra dance and English Country Dance traditions. The former is somewhat similar to bluegrass, with Scots-Irish roots and a little contemporary sound mixed in. It is music designed for dancing, so audience members are encouraged to get up and move! The group also plays English Country Dance music, which is familiar to moviegoers from movies such as "Pride and Prejudice."
