Creating an email link with Subject line pre-filled

Creating an email link with Subject field pre-populated

  1. Navigate to (or create) the page and choose “Edit”
  2. Choose the “HTML” view icon in the WYSIWYG menu bar
  3. Paste THIS where you want the link: <p><a href="mailto:userID@clemson.edu?subject=TITLE">Text visitors see.</a></p>

Then edit the following text as desired:

<p><a href="mailto:userID@clemson.edu?subject=TITLE">Text visitors see.</a></p>

userID – edit this to the recipients’ email address. If you want to have the responses sent to multiple email accounts, be sure to list them separated by a comma – NO SPACES.
“userID@clemson.edu,userID2@clemson.edu,userID3@clemson.edu”

TITLE – this will populate the subject line in the email that is generated. You may use any caps and spaces as needed. Special characters may interfere with the HTML code, I’d recommend avoiding those.

Text visitors see. – this is the text that appears on the live website. This can be any caps and spaces as needed. Special characters may interfere with the HTML code, I’d recommend avoiding those here as well.
