Branding changes to websites
The PSA/CAFLS Web Team will be applying minimal changes to the Cascade style sheets. What will change and how this will affect “psacascade” users:
What will be different?
New banners. We will be recreating the current banners with the same images but a new wordmark. The banner region is 10 pixels taller as well.

When will I notice the change?
The date of this change is governed by the upgrade to a newer version of Cascade. The target date for this update is October 30.
What do I need to do?
In an effort to make this the least painful transition for all users, we have developed a strategy to streamline the update. We have redesigned all of the current CAFLS, Extension, and PSA web banners that we originally created. They used the same system name and will be placed back in the same Cascade subfolder. On the established “go-live” date, our office will make the changes and republish all of your pages.
Before we republish the assets: It is critical that if you are working on pages or subfolders that you do not want published, you are responsible for labeling those assets to not publish when publishing. If you are not aware of how to do this, please review the following Cascade How-To >>
After we republish the assets: If you notice that banner images are missing for your website, please email us, being sure to include the URL of pages with errors. PSA_WEB-L@CLEMSON.EDU
How can I learn more about the new brand campaign?
While the wordmark looks rather similar, it is indeed different and now comes with additional use guidelines. There are campus-wide changes that you need to be aware of. For example, did you know that you can no longer use the seal for any reason? That the wordmark has to be a certain distance from the edges or folds of paper, other text and images?

Cascade upgrade
We are in the process of exploring the most recent version of Cascade Server. How will the upgrade affect “psacascade” users:
What will be different?
While there are extra administrative features in the newest version of Cascade, there are only a few changes affecting your use.
1. The Cascade logo is now a clickable icon in the blue navigation bar. This menu option is where you will now access the Publishing cue.
2. Your userID (top right) is no longer clickable. Instead, you can choose "My Settings" to update your profile preferences.
3. "Give Us Feedback" is a link to Hannon Hills' Idea Exchange. This is NOT how you provide feedback to anyone at Clemson University.
4. Link checker fixed: Currently if you submit a page with links on it, you are taken to a link checker window before the page is actually saved. In the current version of Cascade, this link checker incorrectly identifies most links on the page as errors. In the new version of Cascade, the link checker works correctly. After the upgrade, please take heed to this warning and update any link errors identified in this window.

The User Guide and online How To are being updated to reflect these changes as well. Those resources will be available to you shortly after the new version is installed.
When will I notice the change?
PSA/CAFLS Web Team will be testing the newest version throughout the month of October. The target date for this upgrade is October 30. All Cascade users will be notified, and asked to log out, prior to the upgrade.
What do I need to do?
Pay attention to your email and take note of any direction given about the Cascade upgrade.
