Institutional Review Board The Institutional Review Board (IRB) for Clemson University (CU) is an administrative body established to protect the rights and welfare of human research subjects recruited to participate in research activities conducted under the auspices of this institution. We are excited about the research being done in our community, and we look forward to working with you. However, please remember that our primary function is to insure that investigators adhere to federal regulations regarding the treatment of human subjects. While we do not write the regulations, we are tasked with enforcing them. This is a crucial task, and we appreciate your cooperation. If you are looking for a general introduction to IRB, visit the Getting Startedsection of this site. This web site contains a variety of information for researchers. This information includes links to university and government Regulations, required Online Forms, Informed Consent Documents and Research Resources. This site also includes a Definitions of Terms. If you have specific questions about human subjects or the IRB, visit our FAQs page for help. If you still can't find what you need, contact one of our staff members for assistance. Visit the IRB Contact Information page for contact information.
