Intellectual Property Policies
The basic objectives of Clemson University's policies regarding
intellectual property are to:
- Encourage research and scholarship as creative academic
endeavors, while recognizing that commercially viable inventions may
result from such endeavors;
- Encourage inventors and authors to report discoveries
with patent or computer software copyright potential and to assist them,
while at the same time safeguarding the interests of all concerned parties;
- Ensure that inventions and computer software developed
in the course of University research are made available to the public
under conditions that promote their commercialization.
