DIXIE HAYWOOD I am fascinated by the combination of color, fabric, design and texture in the triad of processes that offer the challenge and excitement of design, the satisfaction of task oriented mundane construction, and the meditative quality of quilting. All the steps of quiltmaking offer creative surprises that keep me working to see what will happen next. My love of working with fabric transcends style and function. My quilts range from interpretations of the traditional to original designs that some call art quilts (although I reject such pigeon-holed categories. I believe quilts are worth putting my time into, both for my own satisfaction and for those to whom they ultimately will belong. Dixie Haywood |
