Touch the Earth...Chris Drury's "Time Capsule",
narrated by Angeles Arrien, shows how artisically attuned to nature's treasures, Chris Drury of Lowes, England, creates nature-based, site-specific sculpture that challenges the ethereal essence of decay. In his Time Capsule, we witness "...a life that grew in some way." Using rammed earth, woven cut sticks, and living beech, river birch and serviceberry trees, he carves a niche in the South Carolina Botanical Garden with design residuals lasting more than 250 years.

Touch the Earth...Yolanda Gutierrez "The Devotion of the Sunflower" Sculpture video narrated by author/commentator Richard Rodriguez and supported with music performed by composer Jonn Serrie. During the month of February 2003, Yolanda Gutierrez, internationally recognized, award-winning artist from Mexico, created the largest nature-based sculpture of her career using native clay, living plants and the landscape as her media.
Challenged by time and daunting elements, including drenching rains and ice, this video follos the month-long creative process capturing the character of this humble artist as she realizes her vision assisted by Clemson University faculty and students and community volunteers.
