Feedback on the Vision Plan

Hello, this is Ryan Hegreness. Many of you met me as I worked as Bob Brookover's Graduate Assistant on the Vision Plan process. I am currently working as an Assistant Director for a recreation department in Vermont. I have met with some VRPA leaders and they are interested in implementing California's VIP plan in Vermont. They have asked me to do a presentation for the association in the spring. I am hoping to get some feedback from South Carolina Parks & Rec. directors who have implemented the Vision Plan (to any extent) within their department. I'd like to know:

  1. What have you done to implement the Vision Plan?
  2. Has your staff been receptive to the Vision Plan principles and process?
  3. How has your community responded?
  4. How has the plan changed your thinking and/or operations?
  5. Have you taken any steps to measure results? If so how and what were the outcomes?
  6. Do you have any suggestions for other departments who have not yet implemented the Vision Plan?

I know many departments are still in the early stages of this process and the summer is always a busy time; however, I would love to hear about any successes as well as any suggestions. I think your input will not only be valuable to me as I present the plan in Vermont, but will be helpful to other departments in South Carolina.

Please only change your own content - unless the post specifically invites others to updtate and modify the content.

Those who were at the meeting Monday, April 23 have been added as members of the website. Feel free to log in and change your password in the "My Profile" tab of the back office. When you log in please note that your password is case sensitive (first letter capitalized). The login name is not case sensitive. Also, feel free to experiment with adding content to the discussion page. I have created a "Testing" category where you can experiment. I will delete these posts periodically. Please feel free to create your own categories on the discussion page and begin collaborating. This is your page - start making use of it!
