South Carolina Seafood Alliance Work Plan 2003-2004Educational materials and displays The Seafood Alliance recognizes that the long-range survivability of the supply-side industry segment depends upon building public knowledge of the importance of an in-state seafood harvest capacity. Tomorrow’s public is in the grade school classroom today. Consequently, the Executive director will identify potential partners for developing educational handout material and displays suitable for school age children. Once cooperators to help produce such programs that spotlight the best aspects of the seafood industry are identified, the Executive director will determine funds required to initiate production of the materials required for the programs. The Board of Directors will determine which programs will receive funding or find additional funding sources for these programs. Suitable handouts highlighting the Alliance and its cooperating members, such as restaurants serving local seafood and interesting locals for tourists to visit, will be developed for distribution at tourist centers. A demonstration Kiosk for displays has already been secured. Outside funding for additional production and distribution will be sought. Identifying cooperators by second quarter; school program and or tourist site handout material concept development third quarter. Outside funding sources identified third quarter. Production, dependent upon success of additional funding, immediate upon securing funding. Back to Plan of Work |
