Doris D. Cole (BA, Columbia College; MEd, EdS, Ph.D., Clemson) is a research assistant professor in the Institute, an adjunct professor of educational leadership, and a community outreach worker in the Strong Communities initiative.

Prof. Cole has extensive experience as a principal and a district administrator in PK-12, adult education, and family literacy programs in Anderson School Districts 1 and 5. As a principal, she was particularly successful in developing early childhood programs, building a climate of innovation, and enhancing parent participation. She also has a strong record of volunteer community service, including membership on various citizen boards in Anderson County.
