George Hicks
Community Outreach Worker, Strong Communities
George Hicks (BS, North Carolina; M.Div., Interdenominational Theological Center) serves as a community outreach worker in the Strong Communities initiative, particularly for Welcome Families and outreach to faith-based organizations.
He is the pastor of Agape Baptist Church in his "off" hours, Rev. Hicks formerly was a leading volunteer in Strong Communities. He received the Champions for Children Award on behalf of Fairforest Baptist Church, where he was then pastor. Rev. Hicks is a board member of the Golden Strip YMCA and an advisory board member for Greenville Memorial Hospital. He is a former staff member of Reedy River Missionary Baptist Church and the Greenville Urban League. His undergraduate degree was in business administration, and he has experience in sales.
