Linda A. Smith (BA, Clemson) is an Extension associate who directs the Center for Community Services and serves as the local coordinator of Strong Communities for Families in the Golden Strip.
Before joining the staff of
IFNL, Ms. Smith was a research associate for the
University of South Carolina’s Institute for Families in Society.
Previously, she was coordinator of school-based services
at the South Carolina Department of Mental Health.
She has extensive experience in family-oriented
community-based research demonstration projects in
juvenile justice, mental health, and education. She
has received awards for distinguished community
leadership from the South Carolina Professional Society
on the Abuse of Children and the South Carolina governor’s office.
