PROGRAM COORDINATOR in a long-term, grant-funded, university-based, community-wide initiative to prevent child abuse and neglect in southern Greenville and northeastern Anderson counties. Coordinator will monitor and provide assistance to families at times of crisis and to volunteer partner families providing direct care for children and other services in such situations. Requires ability to identify family and community assets and to work creatively with minimal supervision in applying such assets in the context of a broad and innovative program model. Requires cooperation in program evaluation, local travel, flexible working hours, and ability to exercise mature judgment amid family crises. Also requires a graduate degree in a human services field, appreciation of informal services, comfort in working directly with churches and other community organizations that are sources of volunteers, and ability to work well with people of diverse ethnicity, social class, education, and profession. Familiarity with the relevant communities is desirable.
