Approximately thirty students and two staff/faculty members traveled to Philadelphia, where in 2003 over 26% of city K-12 students lived in poverty. The group worked with community partners like Philadelphia Cares, Philabundance, SHARE , and MANNA to assist those in need, as they visited the birthplace of Thomas Green Clemson. In 2007 Clemson University celebrated his bicentennial birthday.
